is this project headed up by the Institute for Creative Technologies? I could have sworn that something like this appeared in World War Virtual (film that came here last semester).

I take that back... a Google search confirmed it--ICT has been working with the Office of Naval Research and is part of a larger project that's been given $4 million to develop these kinds of technologies.
