...but maybe a Youtube star

Perhaps a little off topic, but some interesting research on our generation and insight on why things like Youtube and MySpace are so popular.

and speaking of YouTube, looks like national sports associations are picking up on its popularity.

"For example: As of last night, a two-month-old promo involving San Jose Sharks center Joe Thornton, in which he has trouble making toast, had been viewed 144,967 times. A video of Shaquille O’Neal, LeBron James and Dwight Howard dancing during an All-Star Game practice had been seen more than 400,000 times."

"I am special! I am special! Look at Me!" They're right, all the icons for my generation have this attitude. And ONLY my generation.

Interesting theory about the narcissim developing in individualized media, but also seems a bit paranoid. Sometime people aren't nice on the street, or good in relationships. I really don't think this is something you can tag onto one generation, especially my generation. We're trying our best, so back off. Besides, I wonder which generation is reaping in the financial benefits of the commercialization of "individual media" and trying to sell these products to us.
